EDIT: You should probably stop reading if don't want to be spoiled over AC3 and the Tyranny DLC, and if you don't want to know anything about AC4 (just what's revealed in the trailer).

I played through the entire game again (getting it to nearly 100% sync this time, because I really don't have a life), and then played the first two episodes of the Tyranny of King Washington.

I have to say, while I get why a lot of people don't like AC3 (for the same reason people didn't like ACR), I really, really, REALLY enjoy this game (as I did ACR, lol), and I'm REEEAAALLLYY enjoying the DLC.

The premise seems a bit cracky, and maybe it is, but it's so fucking fun that I simply can't bring myself to care. In the DLC, you gain the powers of an eagle, wolves and a bear. It makes Connor incredibly OP, but he was anyway, and tbh, if you're playing AC for a combat challenge, I'm pretty sure you're playing the wrong game (imo, even with Altair, slaughtering the masses was a cake walk). But, again, let me reiterate: FUN. That's why anyone plays a game, yes? And killing shit in Assassin's Creed has always been the most fun of ever for me.

Back to the DLC, Tyranny's story, while also not to be taken TOO seriously (even though it's written that way), was also pretty compelling. I liked seeing more of Connor after AC3, because he's my favorite assassin now for the simple fact that he was so utterly fucked over in the original game. Altair had his legacy and Ezio had the friends and family he'd rebuilt, but Connor has absolutely nothing by the end of the story, and in fact, it's quite telling it ends with a slave auction and our hero looking utterly defeated (he could barely walk, for God's sake). I'm hoping we get another game for him just so he gets a happy ending, but it's not going to happen in this DLC. Still, seeing him back to his badass self in the DLC is very nice, and fighting an insane George Washington with an incredibly powerful artifact is, again, fun. After George fucked Connor over at Monmouth (sorry, but he really is a dick in this game), it actually felt pretty good to pound the shit out of the founding father.

I have a feeling the story is going to end on a "it was all a dream" scenario, which I generally hate, but I'm still loving this DLC. Because... FUN.

The newest game, Black Flag, also looks great.

One word: PIRATES!!!!!!!1!ONEELEVENTY1

I can't fucking wait, omg.

Given the naval missions in AC3 were the best fucking missions this side of EVER, I'm really looking forward to wandering around in my own pirate ship. The new assassin is Haythem's father, Edward, so it also still ties to Connor and takes place before AC3. I think that's why it also has a new number (4, to Connor's 3). Given the pattern of the previous games, I think each new number applies to a new assassin (Ezio was 2, Altair 1), so it's possible if we get another game with Connor, he'd be AC3: Subtitle, and Edward will be AC4: Subtitle. Long story short, I still hope we get another AC3 for Connor, but Edward should be fascinating all the same. I want to see how Edward... handles... the thing with Haythem. Should be fuel for some serious heartbreak.

Can't wait.

The newest episode of Supernatural has me hyped up. Don't want to spew spoilers for the peeps still catching up (so, uh, stop reading I guess), but I will imply I'm really, really, REALLY hoping that the, err, problems between Cas and his favorite Winchester sort themselves out. Destiel has been pretty slashy in the past, but this season takes the cake. That stuff between Dean and Benny? It felt like a precursor. Or something.

But, enough of me watching shit with my slash goggles on. TBH, I'm more interested in Sam than Dean at the moment, even though Castiel always has my focus. (And I'm not just shipping him with Dean. DID ANYONE ELSE CRY OVER A CERTAIN DEMON? OH MY GOD.) More to the point, Sam's going through such a wonderful arc right now. It's nice to see him being all heroic!

Oh, and CROWLEY. Eeee, I love me some Crowles. As long as nothing serious happens to the boy, I'll be happy.

I'm no stranger to blogging or LJ, but I'd long abandoned my old accounts and I thought a fresh start was in order. I plan on rambling about gaming, fandoms and other sorts of nonsense here, and will probably end up posting fic and art when they happen.

I am a fangirl to many different fandoms. Lately, they compose of: Supernatural, Doctor Who, Lost Girl, Game of Thrones, Dexter, Farscape, various games such as Bioware (in general), Assassin's Creed, Elder Scrolls and Fallout. I don't "ship" pairings so much as characters, but my list of favorite characters is pretty long. (At the moment, I'd say my all-time favorite character is probably Castiel from Supernatural, followed by Kenzi in Lost Girl. That said, it changes daily.)

Anyway. On to rambling!
